Tyczka Hydrogen is consistently continuing its agile growth trajectory in the hydrogen mobility segment: The company is acquiring the hydrogen refuelling stations in Giengen an der Brenz (Baden-Württemberg) and Hallstadt (Bavaria) from MorGen Mobility GmbH. With this, Tyczka Hydrogen expands its network of refuelling stations, which already includes locations in Augsburg, Schweinfurt (from early 2026), and Ravensburg (from late 2026).
With this strategic acquisition, Tyczka Hydrogen strengthens its position as a leading supplier of green hydrogen in southern Germany. Both acquired stations are equipped for refuelling vehicles with gaseous hydrogen at 350 and 700 bar. Technical upgrades are already planned to further enhance performance, especially for heavy-duty transport. The stations will be supplied with green hydrogen from Tyczka Hydrogen’s established network of H2 sources.
Second Pillar in the Spectrum of Sustainable Mobility
Hydrogen vehicles enable long ranges and short refuelling times, thus contributing to the spectrum of sustainable mobility as a bridge between diesel and battery-electric vehicles. Green hydrogen as a fuel for trucks makes operators independent of high-performance charging infrastructure, reduces grid expansion costs, and allows for higher payloads than battery trucks. The short refuelling times also enable multi-shift operations (e.g., combining distribution traffic and overnight runs) with high mileage for intensive logistics applications.
Now is the Time for Hydrogen Mobility in Heavy-Duty Transport
The acquisition also takes place in the context of the Bavarian funding program for hydrogen in heavy-duty transport, published at the beginning of December. This program covers up to 80% of the additional investment costs compared to a comparable diesel commercial vehicle when purchasing or leasing hydrogen-powered trucks. Logistics companies thus have the opportunity to sustainably convert their fleets and advance the decarbonisation of the transport sector.
The transaction is expected to be completed in January 2026.
