The Tyczka Group announces with deep sadness the passing of Dr Hans‑Wolfgang Tyczka, the principal shareholder of the family‑owned company, who died peacefully last weekend following a short illness.
Through his life’s work, Dr Hans‑Wolfgang Tyczka stood among Bavaria’s most influential business leaders. Over many decades, he built one of the leading energy and gases companies in Bavaria and set standards for responsible entrepreneurship. Under his leadership, the Tyczka Group evolved into a robust, broadly based and pan‑European business in the energy and gases sector. Strategic foresight and entrepreneurial courage consistently guided his approach. This was also evident in his decision, even at an advanced age, to play an active part in the Group’s entry into the hydrogen sector – a clear commitment to innovation and to the future of energy. In recognition of his outstanding services, Dr Hans‑Wolfgang Tyczka received numerous honours, including the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Bavarian Order of Merit.
Dr Hans‑Wolfgang Tyczka was privileged to witness the company’s centenary in 2024 and, this February, to celebrate his own 100th birthday – both with great joy and engagement.
